This directory contains the model topography. 
NERSC- generated topography usually uses the confgrid routines.
Most routines give additional info if called with no arguments

List of routines in bin dir :

ATLb2.00
   The directory ATLb2.00 contains sample scripts for generating
   topography using scripts supplied in original hycom.

regioncopy.sh
   regioncopy.sh is used to import a topography file  from an older NERSC-HYCOM
   model run. Run with no arguments for more info
   
nestbat.sh
   nestbat.sh will smooth a topography towards that of an outer model. Run with
   no arguments for more info

addhuge.py
   This script can be used to put "mask" values on land regions of the
   topography.  This script is used to modify old regional.depth files so that 
   land values are not zero, but a mask value (2.0^100.0). This land-value in
   the topography files is new in HYCOM-NERSC 2.2.

depthtoregional.py
   Can be used to convert depth files to standard hycom topography file format.

toponame.sh 
   Simply returns the correct name of a topography file

tile_grid.sh
   Used to set up partitions for MPI runs.
